Benjamin Franklin is quoted as saying “If you want love, then love and be lovable.”
Sometimes I’ll get a little down, thinking about wanting more love in my life. I wish that I ‘felt’ more loved and special to those whom I love. When I let myself be sad about it I notice that I withdraw from people and retreat inside myself. From within that dark and lonely place, I notice that nobody is getting to feel loved! So, in the spirit of Benjamin’s wisdom, I have decided to let go of my own need. I am going to love and be lovable. Then at least those I love will feel the warmth. It’s even likely, as I smile writing this, that I will begin feeling more loved as a result. The Universe is predictable like that.
